First Annual Military Film Festival
To The Villages
Villagers for Veterans is proud to bring this 1st annual military film festival to The Villages.
This years festivities will be hosted by Old Mill Playhouse,
located in beautiful Lake Sumter landing.
Throughout the week, help salute our Veterans by coming to view feature films like the Last Man Club which played to limited audiences around the U.S., including right here in
The Villages and Sgt. Stuby: A Real American Hero -the true story of the stray dog who became a military hero.
The opening ceremony will be held November 6th with a private showing of Midway. In the following four days of film showings we hope to enhance the public's understanding of
life while serving in the military
and life during transition into the civilian life.
The film festival will close with a special showing of
The Bay House by Last Man Club director, Bo Brinkman.
Also showing is the classic Abbott and Costello film, Buck Privates, winner of 5 Academy Awards Deer Hunter starring Robert Dinero and Christopher Walken, Charlie Wilson's War featuring Tom Hanks and A New Leash on Life:
The K-9s for Warriors Story.
